A little bit about me – I am a fifty something mother of two (both in their mid 20’s), and I’ve been married to my best friend, George, for 30+ years. I live in Wokingham, Berkshire (RG40 3JQ) with George and our dog, Kylo.
I was introduced to Stampin’ Up! by a friend of a friend way back in 2001 when I was living in San Diego. It really was a case of love at the first stamp. What’s more, I still have the first ever Stampin’ Up! stamp set that I bought.
Returning to the UK in 2006, life became complicated. There was no time to craft, and the stash that I brought back from the USA sat unused on the shelf.
By the end of 2010 I had a little more time for myself, and in early 2011 I went to a local craft show (Make It, in Farnborough). Lo and beyond there was a Stampin’ Up! stand at the show. A couple of months passed, and in May 2011, I decided to join Stampin’ Up! and become a member of the Stampin' Up! family. The original reason for joining was so that I could purchase supplies at a discount for the small monthly class I held for my Mum and her friends. Of course, it also meant that I received the discount on my very large wish list too.
A year later, and with my husband travelling a lot overseas, I took the decision to expand my classes and I also took part in my first major craft show, Make It. Since then, I’ve been on Stampin’ Up! stands at other Make It shows, Sincerely Yours in Bracknell and various shows at the Sandown Racecourse (Esher).
Over the years I have met lots of lovely people. A few have even been tempted to become part of the family and join my team, the Crafting Acorns.
In 2014, I was asked to be a display stamper at a Stampin’ Up! OnStage event (which meant I was given sneak peek goodies to use). Subsequently, in 2016, I did a presentation of a new suite of products to over 400 demonstrators at another Stampin’ Up! OnStage event.
In 2017, I was one of 21 UK demonstrators who earned the Incentive Trip to Alaska, and we spent a week cruising around Alaska in July 2018. I am very proud of achieving the trip because less than 0.001% of demonstrators actually achieve it.
I've been a participant in the Global Stampers Blog Hop. This was a group of demonstrators from around the world (Australia, France, New Zealand and the USA).
I was also a Design Team Member for the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge Blog. I stepped down from this in mid 2019 to concentrate on other things.
Currently, I am a design team member for the Craft Along With Us group of demonstrators. We each take it in turns to design a project and also write the instructions. These instructions are sent out in our weekly newsletters. So, if you are interested in receiving some free inspsiration don't forget to sign up.
